Louisiana Regional Science Bowl
March 5, 2022
Student Information
This year's Louisiana Regional Science Bowl will be held Saturday, March 5, 2022, location to be determined. Teams from across the state will compete to represent the State in the National Science Bowl® finals to be held April 28 - May 2, 2022, location to be determined. Regional winners are invited to DOE to attend the national event. In 2020, ~111 teams will receive all-expenses paid trips to compete for the national title. In additin to the academic competition, students attend presentations by well-known scientists on current topics in math and the sciences.
The LA regional competition is limited to 18 teams. Up to 2 teams per school may register. Teams will be accepted in order of their registration dates, with first teams preferred over second teams, and second teams preferred over third teams. This allows greater opportunity for more schools to participate.
This is a tournament-style academic competition that challenges and recognizes high school students' knowledge in science and math. The competition will be in the form of a round-robin/double-elimination tournament; each team consists of four team members, one alternate player, and a coach. Question categories include biology, chemistry, math, physics, energy, and earth and science.
We are proud to sponsor this academic competition through the National Science Bowl®, and look forward to your school's participation. If you have any questions, please call the Louisiana Regional Science Bowl Coordinator, Demetrius Treadway, at Demetrius.Treadway@SPR.DOE.GOV.
